AWARDS FOR TERM 3 2009

ACADEMICS

Academic honours are awarded on the Matric Trial examination results for a total aggregate of 510 marks and above

Academic colours are awarded  for a total aggregate of 450 marks and above;
Academic coloursare already held by Natalie Howlett, Priyanka Naidu, Amy Freakes, Sonal Naran, Sophia Fang, Lauren Stewart and Javeria Hussain who have all maintained this same standard of work. Well done
It now  gives us great pleasure to award Colours for academics to Sarah Bloch, Lindelwa Bolani and Yasmine Allen.

 

Academic Honours are already held by Tessa Macnab, Divanisha Pillay and Katrina Suhr who have all once again attained this same standard. Well done.
We have pleasure in awarding Academic honours to Ingrid Algar and Jade Budd.

PERFORMING ARTS

Several awards have been made based on the House plays from Term 3
Full colours for Performing Arts are held by Jodi Edmunds and Mweya Waetjen, Saxon Kinnear and Zesipho Mncwango.
Jodi Edmunds and Mweya Waetjen are re-awarded half colours for their writing and co-directing of the winning house play – well done girls

Julie Dancaster and Phindokuhle Dlamini already hold half colours and are re-awarded these for their writing and directing of their houseplays which were amongst the top three.

It gives us great pleasure to award half colours for Performing Arts to Jessica Manthey for co-direection of her house play , to Victoria Lambert for writing and co-directing
Annabelle Nichol for her performance as Best Actress is awarded Full colours for Performing Arts

DEBATING

We award full colours for Debating to Julita Ramsunder who is a member of a winning team at league level.

 HONOURS for Debating are already held by Binwe Adebayo and we now have pleasure in awarding honours for debating to Sameera Patel who has been selected for the provincial team.

RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

Junior colours are already held by Megan Rainbird and Michaela Romer, members of the KZN team and we now award junior colours to Hannah Oberholzer and Samantha Niemand.
Tayla Niemand participated as a member of the KZN team and we now award her Middle school honours for rhythmic gymnastics.

SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING

Two girls represented South Africa at the Comen cup competition and we have pleasure in awarding Special honours  to Lucy McCarthy and Natasha Domiro

 

KARATE
Shrihara Pattundeen  already holds special honours and she once again represented South Africa in Karate and we congratulate her on this achievement.

CROSS COUNTRY

Four girls were chosen and participated  in the Durban central  cross country team. We award junior colours to Lori Niemand and Stephanie Trevethan
Half colours are awarded to Megan Strachan and Geordi Wyer who participated in the Durban central team.
Four girls participated  in the Umlazi team last round of trials and we award Junior colours to Sasha Lee Nordengen, Middle school honours to Samantha Campbell and Lushano Smit ; Jocelyn Quenet receives full colours for cross country.

TENNIS

Four girls participated in the north Durban Central team and we award junior colours for tennis to Nicole Koenig, Rebecca Rodseth, Savannah Saad and Alexander Tattam.
Courtney Perrett played in the KZN primary schools B team and we also award her junior colours for tennis.

HOCKEY
We congratulate Jacinta Jubb, who holds honours for hockey , on being chosen as one of two SA athletes selected to attend a youth camp in Singapore at the end of 2009.

We now come to CERTIFICATES FOR SERVICE TO SPORT.

These are awarded for 5 years service and commitment to a sport discipline and I invite the following girls to receive their certificates.

MUSIC
Certificates of service over 5 years to the Senior choir and to the Senior orchestra are awarded to Thando Meth and Yasmine Allen respectively.
HOCKEY
Certificates of service over 5 years to Hockey both Indoor and Outdoor are awarded to
Amy Freakes, Jade Budd,anna Blanckenberg, Courtney Caulfield,Georgina Collins,Natalie Howlett and Kaylee Aitken

NETBALL
Certificates of service over 5 years to Netball and Action Netball are awarded to
Katrina Suhr,Tessa Macnab,Kylie Simpkins, , Lindelwa Bolani and Sarah Bloch

TENNIS
Certificates for 5 years service to Tennis are awarded to
Lauren Stewart,Nancy Nangle and Amy Freakes.

BADMINTON
Certificates for  service are awarded to Lucy Liu and Sophia Fang

SWIMMING

Certificates for 5 years service are awarded to Anna Blanckenberg ,Sarah Bloch and Hlezi Hadebe

Certificates for commitment and service are awarded to Hayley Nel and Ashleigh Crowther who have participated in Hockey and Athletics and Hayley in Tennis as well since they arrived at College.  A service certificate is awarded to Divanisha Pillay for service and dedication to Netball through her school career at
