Olivia Taylor launched her Four Elements Challenge Swim from Blue Lagoon to the harbour wall on 3 May – the first of what will become an annual event. There were 16 official competitors, with DGC pupil Ayanda Maphumulo being the youngest at age 14, and Otto Thaning the oldest at age 73. Staff member Wilma van Niekerk took part, as did DGC parent John McCarthy. First home was Julian Taylor followed by Glen Gore, with Ayanda in third place and the first woman home. Well done Ayanda, on this wonderful achievement. Huge congratulations to Olivia for her vision and zeal. The DGC family is full of admiration. DGC is Making Waves!
