The DGC 1st hockey team retained their title at the prestigious SPAR KZN Regional Schoolgirls’ Hockey Tournament defeating St Anne’s DSG. Since the inception of the tournament in 2011, DGC has won a medal, moving from bronze and silver to their second gold. Winger Teagan McFall scored the winning goal. It was captain and centre back Michelle Alborough’s 4th tournament. Victory in the SPAR tournament has added to the list of successes this year – with the team winning the KZN Coastal Schools’ field hockey league as well as the indoor league. Coach Bell Meek was delighted with the team’s performance.
