This annual event brings together some of the top schools in the country to compete in three aquatics disciplines – swimming, water polo and diving.

Durban Girls’ College hosted the competition, with the swimming and diving taking place at the Kings Park pool and the water polo at the school’s new aquatic centre.

Competing schools in the swimming events were Clarendon High School who traveled from East London; Eunice and C en N Sekondêre Meisisskool Oranje from the Free State; Pretoria High School for Girls and St Mary’s Waverley traveled from Gauteng and five KZN schools – Durban Girls’ College, Durban Girls’ High, Fatima, Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High and St Mary’s Kloof.

This year was the closest final result of the 28 swim events, which ended in a Superclean Dash for Cash (not points!). The junior 50m dash was won by Jeanri Buys of St Mary’s Kloof and the senior 50m dash winner was Durban Girls’ College’s Courtney Perrott.

The water polo was contested by St Mary’s Waverley, DGC, Pretoria Girls’ and DGHS in Pool 1. Pool 2 comprised Clarendon, St Stithian’s, St Mary’s Kloof and Pietermartizburg Girls’ High. In semi-final 1, St Mary’s Waverley played St Stithian’s and won 6-1. Semi 2 was contested by DGC and Clarendon and was won by DGC 8-2. In the final, the hosts DGC were beaten by St Mary’s Waverley 7-3.

The diving, in which Eunice, Oranjemeisies, St Mary’s Waverley and St Mary’s Kloof, Pretoria High School for Girls and Pietermartizburg Girls’ High, was won convincingly by St Mary’s Waverley.
